  Mike Greer      Age 17      White Bear Lake, MN
       Junior Golf Highlights/Accomplishments: Mike was a member of the 2000 Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association Players' Tour. He finished third at the Hillcrest CC event with a 76. Mike placed third at the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association Tournament of Champions at Izaty's G& YC. He also finished seventh at the Minnesota PGA Junior Championship at the Classic @ Madden's and the Legacy @ Cragun's. As a sophomore, Mike played on the Minnesota State Class AA Golf Championship White Bear Lake golf team. He tied for 8th place in the State Tournament as an individual, shooting 76-75=151. In August 2000, Mike won the Sawmill GC Men's Club Championship with scores of 75-72.
     Most memorable experience(s) occurred while participating in a Minnesota PGA Junior Event: "At the Tournament of Champions at Izaty's, I shot a 73 the second day of the tournament to tie for 3rd place. I went on to win 3rd place by winning the first hole in sudden death."
     What are some tips/advice that you would recommend to other juniors to help them with their game? "Never forget that golf is a game - have fun! And secondly, remember to keep practicing."
     Additional Activites/Hobbies: Mike also enjoys playing hockey in White Bear Lake and he practices golf whenever possible. He has been a caddie at the North Oaks GC for the past 5 years.
 
  Lane Skinner     Age 15     Anoka, MN
       Junior Golf Highlights/Accomplishments: Lane was a member of the 2000 Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association Junior Tour. He finished in a tie for first in the Boys' 14-15 Junior Tour Award with a 72.6 scoring average. He achieved that average by playing in 13 Junior Tour events and finishing 1st in his age group five times. He was overall boys' medallist at Kimball GC. Lane was named All-Conference as a 9th grader at Anoka High. He also won the 18 & under Greenhaven Junior Club Championship 2 out of 3 years (taking 2nd the third year) and was medallist at the Fox Hollow/Elk River 14-team Invitational High School Tournament.
     Most Memorable experience(s) that occurred while participating in a Minnesota PGA Junior Event: "Playing-off in the Players' Cup for the honor of Player of the Year, having the privilege to play all the beautiful courses in Minnesota."
     What are some tips/advice that you would recommend to other juniors to help them with their game? "Take advantage of the great opportunities the Junior PGA has to offer, hit balls at the range constantly and go to the putting greens every day; keep a positive attitude at all times and never give up under any circumstances."
     Additional Activities/Hobbies: Lane also plays basketball for Anoka; he enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music, and going to the movie theatre with the girls.
 
  Terry Kragero     Age 17     Moorhead, MN
       Junior Golf Highlights/Accomplishments: Terry was a member of the 2000 Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association Junior Tour. He finished second in the Boys' 16-18 Junior Tour Award with a scoring average of 72.8. Terry placed second in 7 of the 8 Junior Tour events that he entered. Terry qualified for the MGA Junior Championship as a team for Village Green GC. He shot an opening round of 74 at the tournament. Terry has lettered on Moorhead High's golf team since his freshman year.
     Most memorable experience(s) that occurred while participating in a Minnesota PGA Junior Event: "One of my most memorable tournaments was at Perham Lakeside CC, where I shot even par. Also, meeting and developing many new friendships with other junior golfers across the state has been a great experience."
     What are some tips/advice that you would recommend to other juniors to help them with their game? "1. Practice, be mentally and physically tough. 2. Stay focused and don't let one bad shot go to your head, shake it off and go on to the next hole. 3. Most of all…have fun!"
     Additional Activities/Hobbies: When not golfing, Terry works in the pro shop at Village Green GC, he plays varsity hockey for Moorhead High, and enjoys fishing, camping and listening to music.
 
  Steve Hurst     Age 14     Brooten, MN
       Junior Golf Highlights/Accomplishments: Steve was the 2000 Minnesota Junior PGA Boys' Champion in the 12-13 year-old division. He shot a 77 at Stonebrooke GC to claim the title. Steve also was a member of the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association Junior Tour, where he won 5 out of the 7 events in his age group that he entered. He finished second once and third once. Steve made the Central Minnesota Conference All-Conference and Academic All-Conference Teams. He got a hole-in-one when he was only 7 years old.
     Most memorable experience(s) that occurred while participating in a Minnesota PGA Junior Event: "Winning the Minnesota Junior PGA Maxfli Championship for ages 11 and under at the age of 9. I shot a 36 on the Par 30 at Baker National GC."
     What are some tips/advice that you would recommend to other juniors to help them with their game? "Work on your weaknesses, and practice as much as possible. Never give up during a bad round, and have lots of fun."
     Additional Activities/Hobbies: Steve also likes to play basketball and video games. He enjoys listening to music, and he participates in the school band where he plays the trombone. He is a regular on the "A" Honor Roll.
 
  Agnes Kim     Age 18     Woodbury, MN
       Junior Golf Highlights/Accomplishments: Agnes was a member of the 2000 Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association Players' Tour and Junior Tour. She finished fourth in the Series "C" point standings, placing first at Phalen Park GC, and second at Hillcrest CC. Agnes finished 7th at the 2000 Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association Tournament of Champions at Izaty's G&YC. On the Junior Tour, Agnes placed first at Oneka Ridge GC, earning her an invitation to the Players' Cup (16-18) at Somerset CC, where she finished in fifth place. Agnes also participated on the Minnesota team in the 1999 Minnesota/Wisconsin Cup Matches. Agnes is a two-time section and conference winner and a three-time Minnesota State High School League Golf Tournament participant. She finished fourth in the 2000 MGA Junior Championship, and she participated in the Minnesota/Manitoba Cup Matches. Agnes has been Athlete of the Week for the Pioneer Press, and she signed a letter of intent to play golf at Bradley University on scholarship.
     Most memorable experience(s) that occurred while participating in a Minnesota PGA Junior Event: "Playing in the MN-WI Junior Cup Matches, winning my first Players' Tour event, and meeting all of the people that I have become friends with over the years."
     What are some tips/advice that you would recommend to other juniors to help them with their game? "Keep on practicing hard. Never give up even if you think that nobody is noticing you because if you are doing your best, someone will notice."
     Additional Activites/Hobbies: Agnes is a two-year team captain. She volunteers 15 hours per week at the local elementary. She also enjoys shopping, going out to eat, playing the cello and piano, babysitting and reading.

 
  Michelle Untiedt      Age 16      Mankato, MN
       Junior Golf Highlights/Accomplishments: Michelle finished fourth in the 2000 Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association Junior Tour Award Standings with a 78.8 scoring average. She placed first in her age group three times on the Junior Tour, with two of those being overall medallist for girls. She also finished second three times. Michelle also participated in the Players' Cup (16-18) at Somerset CC. Michelle made it to the Minnesota State High School League Golf Tournament as a freshman, finishing 38th out of 88 participants. She was co-captain of her high school golf team as a sophomore. In the Big 9 Conference, Michelle earned "honorable mention" in 1999, and "all-conference" in 2000. She has won many medals and trophies throughout her high school career so far.
     Most memorable experience(s) that occurred while participating in a Minnesota PGA Junior Event: "It would have to be the day I shot par at Montgomery on a very warm day. Everyone couldn't believe it."
     What are some tips/advice that you would recommend to other juniors to help them with their game? "PRACTICE and PATIENCE. Just don't practice to the extent that you hate golf! I found that patience, practice, and help from different people all contribute to my success."
     Additional Activities/Hobbies: Michelle also bowls in the fall and winter on her high school team and on a Thursday after-school league and Saturday morning league. She helps tutor others on various subjects. "Golf is my top sport priority - no time for much else!"
 
  Kelly Weisgarber     Age 16     Fargo, ND
       Junior Golf Highlights/Accomplishments: Kelly was a member of the 2000 Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association Junior Tour. She finished third in the 14-15 Junior Tour Award Standings, with a 82.00 scoring average. Kelly placed first in her age group twice on the Junior Tour, and she was overall medallist at Oxbow CC, where she shot 71. Kelly finished second at the Minnesota PGA Junior Championship at The Classic @ Madden's and The Legacy @ Cragun's, and second at the Players' Cup (14-15) at Hudson GC. Kelly won the 2000 North Dakota State High School Tournament, setting a new state record with a two-day total of 146. She is a member of the Fargo South girls' golf team, which this year won its third straight Team State Championship. Kelly won the North Dakota Stroke Play Junior Championship and the Fargo-Moorhead Junior All-City. She finished third in the North Dakota Women's Amateur and first in the Junior Division.
     Most memorable experience(s) that occurred while participating in a Minnesota PGA Junior Event: "My most memorable experience would have to be when my best friend and I tied for second at the Players' Cup in Hudson, WI. We both came in with rounds of 82. We ended up having a play-off hole; in which I took two lovely shots out of the sand and she four-putted! Needless to say, neither of us played our best golf, but I edged her by a couple of strokes. It was the first time I had beaten her in a play-off, it is a memory neither of us will forget!"
     What are some tips/advice that you would recommend to other juniors to help them with their game? "Play the game of golf with confidence. If you believe in your game and take it one shot at a time, you are bound to see success as a golfer."
     Additional Activities/Hobbies:
In her spare time, Kelly likes to go to the lakes, rollerblade and run. She participates in varsity hockey and track. She is a member of her high school's Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, symphonic band, jazz band and Key Club.
 
  Christina Duff     Age 12     Edina, MN
       Junior Golf Highlights/Accomplishments: Christina is the 2000 Minnesota PGA Junior Championship Champion for girls 12-13. She also participated in the 2000 Junior Tour, where she placed first twice in her age group. The 2000 season was the third year Christina participated in the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association. In 1999, Christina won the Maxfli PGA Junior Championship (11 & Under); she placed fourth at the 11 & Under Mid-Summer Classic; and she placed third at the 11 & Under Junior Championship
     Most memorable experience(s) that occurred while participating in a Minnesota PGA Junior Event: "When I was 10, I had to play in a play-off at Lost Spur CC for the 11 & Under Championship. We both had great drives, but my putting was better so I won the play-off. Last summer I played with a lot of older girls who really helped me with my game!"
     What are some tips/advice that you would recommend to other juniors to help them with their game? "When you have a bad hole, keep going and don't give up - even if you get stuck in the sand! The most important part of the game is around the green and putting. Most important overall is to have fun!"
     Additional Activities/Hobbies: Christina enjoys Church activities, intramural sports, water-skiing, choir, working out, tennis and working at the game. She also is an "A" student.
