Players Tour's First 36-Hole Event a Success
Fairbault, Minn. - The first Players Tour 36-hole event of the year was played June 14-15 at Legacy Golf and Faribault GC, respectively. Thanks to PGA Professionals Olivia Pizii and Tim DeSormeau of Legacy Golf and PGA Professional Jerry Carpenter of Faribault GC for hosting this event! Leo Gellert of North Mankato captured the title in the boys division with a two-day total of 151. Olivia Salonek from Roseville won the girls division with a two-day total of 158.
Second place for the boys was a tie at 152 between Ian Meyer of Deephaven and Owen Bjork of Mankato. Second place on the girls side was Samantha Youngquist of Eden Prairie at 161, and third place was Lauryn Finley of Apple Valley shooting 162.
New in 2020, the Minnesota Junior Golf 'Sota Series made all their Players Tour events 36-hole, two-day events to stay competitive and provide an elite playing experience for our juniors.
