The Prep Tour is designed for 7-12 year olds who have more experience in competitive golf. These events are played on 9 and 18-hole executive and regulation courses and are scored as individual stroke play. Caddies are allowed on this tour. Membership in the Prep Tour also allows you to participate in Minny Tour events. The Prep Tour has two age divisions of 7-9 and 10-12. Juniors can play in this program based on their age as of September 1, 2021 and they will be placed in the correct age division based on their age as of that date.

*NOTE: A junior does have the option to play up on the Junior Tour if they are under the age of 13. They would need to pay the appropriate membership fee and we would need to receive a recommendation letter/email that the junior can play up on the Junior Tour. If a junior does play up on the Junior Tour, they cannot play back down in Minny and Prep Tour events.

Many players on the Prep Tour also compete in Drive, Chip & Putt Championship and PGA Jr. League Golf.

Juniors who wish to cancel out of the ‘Sota Series must do so seven (7) days prior to the date of the first event of the 2021 season, which is Monday, June 7, 2021.  A $20.00 processing fee will be deducted from ALL membership refunds.  Any cancellations after the onset of the 2021 season will forfeit all rights to any refunds. In the case of an emergency, written requests for refunds must be submitted to the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Office.  To be considered for a refund due to illness or injury, a doctor’s/physician’s note must accompany the written request.  All emergency-related refund requests will be considered on their own merits.  A $20.00 processing fee will still be deducted from all membership refunds even if we have received a doctor’s note.

Yes, they have two age divisions: 7-9 and 10-12. You will be placed into the correct age division based on your age as of September 1, 2021.

To provide ample playing opportunities to our members, we have devised a Tournament Selection Process, also referred to as a lottery, to ensure everyone has a chance to compete in the events they desire. The tournament selection process period for 2021 will run from Wednesday, March 17 until the selection deadline of Friday, April 30, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. (CST).  You will be able to make your tournament selections during this time period. This is not the same as registering for events; you are simply selecting and ranking the events you would like to play in. There is a possibility, however, that you could receive all your picks so please keep that in mind. Everyone who selects an event during this time frame has the same chance to receive it as everyone else to select that event, it is a NOT first come, first served basis as long as your picks are made within the selection time frame. NO LATE SELECTIONS WILL BE HONORED.

Beginning on Wednesday, March 17 members can log into their 2021 Member account using their ID and Password and select the events they would like to play in. When doing your online tournament selections, you will be asked to rank your preference for the events that you would like to participate.  There will be a drop-down list of sticker numbers (Minny/Prep Tour Members 1-15).  The stickers are used to designate your preference for the events you would like to play in. Select one sticker number from the drop-down list for each tournament.  #1 designates your MOST preferred event to #15 your LEAST preferred. This does not mean that you need to select the maximum number of tournaments allowed for each program.

We will begin emailing out confirmations for the tournaments that you received through the tournament selection process the week of May 10. You will receive one email for each Minny/Prep Tour event that you are confirmed into playing for the 2021 season. At this time your credit card will ONLY be charged for the events that you have received through the tournament selection process.

Juniors that are 2021 Minny/Prep Tour Members will be able to register for Minny Tour and Prep Tour events that still have openings starting on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. (CST). Juniors will be able to register for events that have open spots up to five days prior to the date of the event at our website www.minnesotajuniorgolf.com by clicking on the Minny Tour and Prep Tour event schedules or by logging into your 2021 Member account. Tournaments that still have openings will have a register link next to them on the schedule or a checkbox if you are logged into your account. You cannot call the office to register for an event that still has openings.

Beginning Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. (CST) any junior who is a 2021 Minny/Prep Tour Member can fill out an online wait list form at www.minnesotajuniorgolf.com OR call the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Office at 763-754-6641 to be put on the waiting list for tournament(s) that you did not get into through the tournament selection process or events that filled through the selection process. Once your name is on the wait list, please DO NOT CALL to find out where you are on the list. We will call or email you once we have an opening. We might not know of a cancellation until the last minute. If you do get a spot off the waiting list, you will pay your entry fee by credit card ahead of time.
